Tribute

On Monday July 26, 2010, Mr. Teodoro Francesco “Ted” Mellace of Osoyoos passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 94 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Rosa; his sisters Rachele, Giuseppina, Concetta; his brothers Giovanni and Guglielmo and his parents Maria Teresa Vitale and Francesco Antonio Mellace.
Ted will be fondly remembered by his loving family including daughters Teresa Mellace, Anna Maria (Francesco) Darini, and Josephine Mellace; sons Tony (Wendy) Mellace, and Cosimo Mellace; grandchildren Adele Darini, Maurizio (Susy) Darini, Spencer Anthony Mellace and Jordan Rae Mellace; great-grandchildren Emma and Marilena Darini; sisters Rosaria Mellace, Maria Sibau, Pasqualina Cirillo; brother Emilio Mellace as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ted was born on July 15, 1916 in Satriano, Italy and immigrated to Smithers, BC in 1955 from Italy. He lived in Smithers until 2001 when he moved to Osoyoos, BC.
Over the years Ted was a carpenter, worked for the CNR and at the Smithers Sawmill. He enjoyed traveling and made trips to Italy and all through Canada and the USA. Ted also loved painting, gardening, fishing, he enjoyed cooking and was an avid reader.
Prayers will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Friday July 30, 2010 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Rex Velmonte at 10:30 A.M. Saturday July 31, 2010 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Osoyoos, BC.
Interment and committal will follow at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery. A reception in the church lower hall hosted by the CWL will follow the interment.
