Tribute
Vance Buhler of Osoyoos, passed away at his home on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the age of 82 years.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife Shirley and his four sons Rick (with wife Ethel and daughter Sierra), Brent (with daughter Meresa), Mark (with wife Arlene), and Kevin. Also mourning his passing are his sister Iris Cathey and his brother Virgil Buhler (with wife Rose) and their families.
Vance was a self-employed boat builder. He carried his love of the craft into his volunteering, as a member of the Rotary Club in St. Vincent, West Indies, and as a boat designer, builder, and sailor with the Lake Osoyoos Sailing Club. Vance’s other hobbies included reading, singing, and music arranging.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the Osoyoos Seventh-day Adventist Church, Pastor Oscar Halvorson officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall.
