Shirley, on behalf of my family, I would like to extend our heart-felt sympathies to you and all your family. At times like these, passing is such sweet sorrow. I can only imagine the reunion that Bill is now having with Dad and the others he had known who left before him, – both family and friends alike, too numerous to mention. For he was a great people-person.
Ruth and I would like you to know that we always enjoyed our times with Bill, for he was truly unique. My memories of Bill are rich and varied. I can recollect back to the times of your early married lives (for your times together before that I depend on my older siblings), when you would come back to the farm for visits. Even then, Bill had a quiet, thoughtful demeanour, as though of a man to whom wisdom had come early. This is not to say that he didn’t haven’t an opinion, or that he wouldn’t voice it, but rather that he only spoke after some quiet and thoughtful reflection. I remember also his keen interest in history, both personal and worldly; he possessed a quiet presence which alway made me think he had this confusing world fiigured out. He was an easy man to speak to, yet even easier to listen to. He was a genuine man who made a lasting impression. Memories of him will long endure.

May God bless you all,
love from ruth, Bob & family
