Winnifred Mary Evans
1938 – 2009
On Tuesday, November 17th Winnifred Mary Evans passed away at South Okanagan General Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 71.
Winn will be missed and forever loved by her husband of 41 years, Gerald Evans. She is survived and missed greatly by her five children; Doug Evans, Julie Dekteroff, Wayne Evans, Donna (Roger) Prior, and Stephen (Bonnie) Evans. She will also be missed greatly by her seven grandchildren; Tracy Evans, Jenny and Jason (Jackie) Dekteroff, Blaine (Virginia) and Shawn Evans, Trevor and Tanya Prior, Colton and Chelsea Evans. She will also be missed by extended family members and many friends.
Winn was a great wife, mother, and friend to all. She was always willing and happy to help those in need. She was always baking and cooking with love for her family and they will miss her extraordinary chocolate chip cookies and potato salad. When Winn wasn’t baking up a storm in the kitchen, she was shopping up a storm in Spokane.
No service by request. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, PO Box 1872, Oliver, BC V0H 1T0. The family would like to thank nurses, Leanne & Michael. You two were Grammy’s favourite. Thank-you to Nunes-Pottinger Funeral Service & Crematorium.
