Tribute

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Jane Simpson-Smith. Nancy passed away suddenly at home on the morning of Tuesday January 21st from natural causes.

Nancy was the youngest daughter of Robert Simpson and Myrtle Simpson (nee Landon) of Seeley’s Bay, Ontario. She is remembered fondly and survived by her loving partner Steve Campbell, her sons Brendan and Pierce, her brothers Albert (Mary), Brian (Cindy), Burton, Rick (Marilyn), Jim, and her sister Kathy.

Nancy worked as a dental hygienist for many years in Ontario and British Columbia, and more recently as a real estate agent, but her true passion was in connecting with people though her conference and education business CE Solutions.

Nancy loved travelling, often taking her family and friends to far off places like Hawaii, and Europe. She loved to talk and would often spend hours exploring down sideroads in small towns. Nancy fell in love with British Columbia by living in Banff and Victoria as a young adult and lived her dream by eventually living there. She recently moved to Oliver B.C. with Steve where they had begun to build their dream home surrounded by orchards and vineyards.

Information about a celebration of life to follow. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada in memorial.

so sorry to hear the sad news Pierce, my heart goes out to you and your family

From: Karen McCann
Relation: Friend

My very 1st birthday party was at Nancy’s – I think I was 4. My very first trip outside Ontario was with Nanc to Vancouver Island – I think I was 16. The adventures continued as they always did with Nanc when we drove to Banff together and spent a summer working there after high school. I am so sorry to hear this news and want to wish my condolences to the boys, Steve, Luke and the rest of the family

I will always remember her optimism, zest for life and travel and generosity of spirit

Relation: Brother and sister-in-law

You were my best friend growing up on the farm. We had so many good times. As we grew older and ventured out into the world both of us still had that connection. We both had our own families and they became our main focus in life and I will always remember and cherish the good times.

Nancy, you were an inspiration as a colleague and friend. Ever challenging yourself to do so much – your talents were so evident and your willingness to mentor us, your team at CE Solutions. I learned so much from you and your generous, caring saavy and hardworking spirit. You loved your boys, your family and you sounded very happy with your partner Steve. May you be blessed wherever you have chosen to alight – a bright beautiful light to so many. I will miss you dearly. Forever grateful for your friendship.

It’s been a while since I saw you, but when we would bump into each other, it would be just like yeterday. So, sorry to hear about your passing. I can still hear your laugh.
